CM Sonowal will visit Golaghat to inaugurate the newly built engineering college in the district.
It may be mentioned that the state is witnessing uproar against the BJP led-government’s decision to amend the Citizenship Act of 1955. The people of the North Eastern states have been raising their voices in protest since PM Modi’s visit to Silchar where he announced the BJP’s intention to implement the controversial Bill.
The AASU chief Samujjal Bhattacharya, along with a delegation, has been visiting opposition members in New Delhi to urge them to vote against the Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
However, the BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav has already confirmed that the Bill will be raised in the ongoing Rajya Sabha session on February 12 as a ‘supplementary Bill.’
