Protestors thrash BJP District President in Tinsukia

Guwahati, January 30, 2019:

The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) thrashed Tinsukia district BJP president Lakheswar Moran on Wednesday while he was on his way to attend a programme organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Gopal Chandra Ravichandra Natya Mandir.

The protestors staged a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in the district as announced by the AGP and it got intense as members of the BJP stated moving into the venue of the programme.

No one was allowed to participate in the programme and they were forced to return back.

However, security personnel and police moved in to rescue Moran and other members who visited the venue to participate in the programme arranged by the RSS.
