Bora also thanked the ‘Northeast hero’ Conrad Sangma and his Mizoram counterpart Zoramthanga, and stated: “We thank Conrad Sangma, Zoramthanga for their special role in the struggle of the people. We are also grateful to the delegates who arrived from several Northeast states in order to support us. We (the AGP) never felt alone as a party.”

He also extended his gratitude to the people of the Northeast who have participated in the protests against the Bill in the last few days. “The protests compelled the Government to reconsider their decision, no doubt”, he added.

“Delhi has neglected the Northeast for long, so we have to be alert that such discriminating legislations are not raised again in the future”, he added.
