A group of women staged protest in front of the Dibrugarh police station on Sunday demanding exemplary punishment to Dr Siddhi Prasad Deori and his wife Mitali Konwar.The protestors thanked the police for arresting the accused with three days.
Dr Siddhi Prasad Deori and his wife Mitali Konwar were arrested by Nagaon and Dibrugarh police from Raha late Saturday night. They were arrested while they were travelling from Guwahati in a Innova vehicle AS06V-3839. Both were wanted by the police on charges of allegedly pouring hot water on their 12 year old domestic help.Siddhi Prasad Deuri, a doctor of Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh and his wife Mitali Konwar, Principal of Moran College, have been on the run since the incident came to light.

“On Saturday evening we received information about them and so in Raha toll gate, we set up a naka and arrested the couple from Raha. They were travelling to Dibrugarh from Guwahati,” said the investigating Police Officer.
