Rail blockade held in Assam’s Dima Hasao District

Guwahati, March 7, 2019:

A rail blockade has been held on March 7 on Assam’s Dima Hasao district. Students’ Forum (ISF) and Indigenous Women Forum (IWF) has announced indefinite rail blockade from 5 am on March 7 demanding “immediate payment of B.G line conversion affected compensation’. Many activists were sitting on the tracks as a sign of protest.

Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Dima Hasao on Wednesdays has imposed section 144 CrPC in the district following the recent situation of unrest in the district.
