Gohain had gone through some difficult times recently. Three women, including two sisters, from Nagaon district had accused him of raping them which triggered demands, particularly from opposition Congress, for his sacking as the junior railway minister.
In the wake of the accusations, he is faced with a bleak political future. There are reports doing the rounds that the four-time sitting Nagaon MP may not be fielded by the BJP in next year’s Lok Sabha elections as his image has been tarnished.
Gohain met Fazal Ali, the quack who is allegedly doing brisk business.
When the reporters asked Gohain about the purpose of his visit to the quack, the lawmaker said it was for personal reasons. On the other hand, Ali said Gohain had come seeking remedies for headache.
“He got relief after taking my treatment,” Ali claimed.
