Ram Madhav doing propaganada over Citizenship Bill: Tarun Gogoi

Following the statement of the BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav that that contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 will be confirmed in the Rajya Sabha without much opposition, former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has lashed out at the BJP government and claimed it is party based propaganda.

Speaking to InsideNE, Gogoi said, “This is propaganda of the BJP government and Congress will definitely oppose the Bill at Rajya Sabha. I am going to Delhi within these days so I will request the members of the Rajya Sabha to oppose the Bill. They will also try to manage the other parties.”

“When the policy is wrong, there will be unrest among the people. Congress can be bad but why are all the people in the state opposing the Bill? If they try to defy public opinion there will be unrest. The political support they had from intellectuals, writers and even their supporters have been withdrawn due to disagreement over the Bill,” added Gogoi.
