Rape charge against Union Railways Minister

In a major development, Union Minister of State for Railways and Nagaon Lok Sabha Member Rajen Gohain is now in a major soup after a rape charge was levelled against him.

According to reports, an FIR was filed against Gohain at Nagaon Sadar Police Station by a woman on 2^nd August. Following this, a case (no. 2592/2018) was registered against him under Sections 417, 376 and 506 of IPC.

However, even after a lapse of eight days since the FIR was filed, there has been no major progress in the case, sources said.
