Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and Assam Rifles inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the RRU campus in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, solidifying a partnership that seeks to merge academic excellence with practical military experience.
The MoU, signed by Dr. Bimal N Patel, Vice Chancellor of RRU, and Lt Gen PC Nair, Director General of Assam Rifles, paves the way for a dynamic collaboration aimed at enriching both institutions. Speaking at the event, Lt Gen PC Nair expressed his optimism about the synergy between Assam Rifles' practical expertise and RRU's academic rigor. He emphasized the importance of education in preparing the force for evolving security challenges, praising the dedication and resilience demonstrated by Assam Rifles personnel.
Dr. Bimal Patel, Vice Chancellor of RRU, highlighted the university's eagerness to learn from the operational experiences and people-centric developmental programs of Assam Rifles. These experiences will be transformed into case studies, contributing to the diverse faculties of the university.
The collaboration aims to accredit academic and training programs of Assam Rifles, offering certifications for various courses. This will enable the undertaking of studies, dissertations, and doctoral research as per university guidelines. The MoU also sets the stage for joint research initiatives, faculty exchanges, and collaborative projects that will benefit both entities.
Lt Gen PC Nair emphasized that the partnership with RRU is more than an agreement; it's about fostering a lasting relationship that will shape the future of Assam Rifles and contribute value to RRU. This collaboration follows Assam Rifles' strategy to create a well-rounded academic curriculum, having previously signed MoUs with Manipur University, Mizoram University, and United Service Institution, Delhi, showcasing its commitment to joint research and specialized courses.
Rashtriya Raksha University, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, stands as an institution of national importance, focusing on national security and police education. Assam Rifles, a Central Para Military Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is responsible for Border Security along the Indo-Myanmar Border and counter-insurgency operations.
