Refinery workers stage protest

Guwahati (Assam), 17 Aug, 2018:

A section of employees of Guwahati Refinery staged a sit-in protest in front of its main entrance on Friday demanding higher wages and reinstatement of workers who have been sacked.

Some 100 workers, who are members of United Workmen Union, staged the protest. All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU) Assam union president Biren Kalita, working president Keshab Goswami and general secretary Girish Kalita took part in the protest.
