In a boost to the saffron party before the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, renowned actress Jaya Prada, who was once a star candidate of the Samajwadi party, has on Tuesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
The actress-turned-politician is likely to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh against her former party’s candidate, Azam Kham, who had brought her to the Samajwadi Party. Earlier, Prada was a member of the Desam Party.
