Rima Das Bags ‘Best Director Award’ for Bulbul Can Sing

Guwahati, September 30, 2019:

Assamese filmmaker Rima Das has bagged the ‘Best Director Award’ for her movie, Bulbul Can Sing at the Jagran Film Festival (JFF) held in Mumbai on Sunday.

Expressing her excitement on winning the award, Rima thanked the jury members.

National Award-winning film ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ hit the theatres on September 20 in 30 Cinema Halls across the country.

It may be mentioned here that the film was screened in other states on September 27.

The highly acclaimed ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ has also bagged the Rajat Kamal Award in the

Regional Language Film category at the 66th National Film Awards. It also bagged the National Award for the Best Assamese Film for 2019.

The movie has been lauded across India and abroad. It was the ‘Best Indie Film’ at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) held in Victoria, Australia.

‘Bulbul Can Sing’ also won the Golden Gateway Award at the 20th edition of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star.
