Guwahati, January 10, 2019: Dr Rita Chowdhury

Unexpected to people’s imagination, Assamese author and winner of Sahitya Academy award, Dr. Rita Chowdhury who was the Director of the National Book Trust (NBT) and also the wife of Chandra Mohan Patowary, Transport Minister of the Modi led BJP state-government has resign from her post.

The resignation came into light after she updated a post in her social media account.

She posted as:          “মই অসমীয়া"

ভাৰতবৰ্ষৰ মূল ভূখণ্ডত থিয় হৈ কৰা এটা ঘোষণা।

It may be mentioned that the recent decision of the Modi led government has frustrated the Axomiya people in the state leading to outrageous situation.  People have moved to the streets and raised voices against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the so called fraud government that has betrayed the people who have voted them into power.
