Guwahati, February 4, 2019:

The Tinsukia Transport Department has officially flagged off the 30th annual Road Safety week, which is to be held from February 4-February 10. A meeting was held at AT Road near the ASTC to commemorate the occasion.

District Transport Officer (DTO) Arun Kumar Bora, Tinsukia Pressclub Secretary Mohammad Hussain Khan, Additional District Commissioner Rina Mech, National Chamber of Commerce Secretary Hiralal Sharma, Tinsukia Zila Parishad’s Chief Executive Secretary Lakhinandan Gogoi and Tinsukia Truck Owner Association Secretary Shivnandan Singh we among the distinguished dignitaries present during the occasion. A road safety awareness drive was taken out in the city after the meeting.

It is to be mentioned that a road safety week is a national event aimed at raising public awareness about traffic rules and ultimately to reduce casualties due to road accidents.
