Guwahati, July 18, 2019:

Wishes continue to pour in to Assam from concerned individuals after the the devastation caused by floods in the Northeastern state. This time, it is none other than the fearless 'Hitman', Rohit Sharma, who has shown his concern for Assam and the animals inhabitants of Kaziranga.

Sharma, who is known for his destructive knocks and fearless attitude while playing cricket (who can forget his record-breaking knock of 267?), is apparently an animal-lover at heart.

Taking to Twitter, the 'Hitman' expressed his concern regarding the safety of the animals in the Kaziranga National Park in Assam in view of the floods in the State. He wrote: "Devastated to see this. People of Assam near Kaziranga please drive safely and slowly as these beautiful animals have no where to go but on the roads, praying hard for the rain to let up for them"

It is to be mentioned that the Park is almost completely submerged underwater due to floods, and many of the animals have moved to nearby highlands to seek respite from the floods. However, many animals have been killed after vehicle collisions along the National-Highway 37.

Meanwhile, 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar has announced a sum of Rs. 1 crores for the animal rescue efforts at the Park. Not only this, the action superstar has also donated a further Rs. 1 crores for the Flood Relief operations in Assam.

Assam's Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has lauded Kumar for his generous act, stating that the people of Assam are appreciating Kumar's great gesture and support.
