GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) has postponed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations, today which were scheduled to held on May 11, in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases.
The notification released by the state board stated that the new dates for examination will be announced once the COVID-19 situation will get in under control or improves
The fresh dates of examination will be declared after discussion with the health and education department with the board authorities.

Earlier, the government had issued a notification to the district authorities to close down educational institutes if the COVID-19 caseload reaches 100 per day in the concerned districts.
Assam recorded 4,489 positive cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, pushing the tally in the state to 2,63,450.
The positivity rate of Assam now stands at 8.02 per cent.
Assam recorded 29 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1,389.
Of the new cases, Kamrup (M) reported 1,645 cases, followed by Dibrugarh 460, Kamrup 239, Nagaon 201 and Nalbari 201.
