Security Forces Nab Two Militants Along Assam-Bengal BorderMilitants

Srirampur, June 11, 2019:

In a successful counter insurgency joint operation Dhubri based unit of Red Horns Division & Assam Police apprehended two militants -- one National Santhal Liberation Army (Anti-talk) and one hardcore Muslim Tiger Force (MTF) cadre from Srirampur in Assam on Monday.

The joint team recovered one 7.65 mm pistol with magazines and twelve live rounds from the militants.

The NSLA (AT) militant is identified as Edwin Marandi son of Simon Marandi while the MTF militant is identified as Salimuddien Sheikh, son of Late Joynel Abidin of Kokrajhar district.

The militants have been handed over to Srirampur Police Station for further investigations.
