Separate State Demand Reiterated by Bodoland Movement Groups in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar, November 25, 2019:

The Joint Movement Group for Bodoland Movement ABSU, NDFB (P) and PJACBM jointly organized a grand mass gathering in Kokrajhar district's South Khargaon to "remind" the Government of India and Government of Assam, regarding the pending issues of the Bodos and other tribal communities.

The organizations have lamented that they are being deprived of their human rights, socio-cultural right, political right to self determined within the framework of the constitution of India.

Through a statement, the organization has stated that it is the matter of grave concern for marginalized tribes of the country that the union Government has already created dozens of states after independence to address the issue of "regional disparity, discrimination and deprivation from socio-cultural and political rights in many regions of the country".

The Bodoland Movement groups have further alleged that the "deliberate act of ignoring the demands of the Bodo people from legitimate and most justified right for many decades is a matter deliberate violation of the constitution".

On the other hand, the people of the region intending permanent peace and all round development through solution of the underground movement which is also a commitment of 1^st Modi Government in 2014.

The organizations urged upon the Government of India under the leadership of Modi and Amit Shah to provide justice by resolving the long pending Bodoland demand to protect their land, language, Identity and Culture and also to enjoy the right to equity development as a citizen of this country through realizing a state.

"We hope the 2^nd Modi Ji led Government will resolve all the pending socio-political issues as there are lots of example of taking hard decisions as like on the matter of J&K" read the communique.
