DHUBRI: Assam Police have seized as many as seven cattle that were being smuggled to Bangladesh from West Bengal via Assam.
The police team also seized a vehicle of cattle smugglers while trying to escape violating the signal given by the police to stop.
Late yesterday night acting on a tip-off, Agomani police chased a suspected bolero pickup of cattle smugglers bearing registration no (WB- 63B- 2956), which tried to flee violating the signal given by the police to stop.
Following that, Agomani police chased the vehicle down the road towards Dhubri via Doomurdoha in Gauripur. Agomani police immediately informed Balajan police about the incident.

Officer In-charge, Aminur Rahman of Agomani police station in collaboration with Balajan Police managed to stop the smuggling cattle vehicle and recovered as many as seven cattle from the inside the vehicle.
It may be mentioned that while chasing the Agomani police vehicle crashed into a tree with minimal damage but no one from the police was injured.
The driver of the smuggled vehicle takes advantage of the situation and flees the scene.
Later, the confiscated cattle later handed over to the government pound, informed Officer In-charge, Aminur Rahman of Agomani, Dhubri.
