Several houses gutted in a fire incident in Assam's Jorhat

JORHAT:  As many as 8 houses have been reduced to ashes in a fire that broke out in Jorhat last night.

The fire also engulfed properties worth Rs lakh.

The incident took place in Digambar Chuk area of Jorhat.

The locals have been alleging that the fire broke out after a man named Vishal, who was living in a rented house in Digambar Chuk, reportedly sets his clothes on fire after fighting with his family.

After setting his clothes on fire Vishal fled the scene.

As soon as the locals of the area noticed the incident, they immediately alerted the firefighters. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and extinguish the blaze with the help of locals.
