Amidst all the hotchpotch Shantanu Mukherjee's visit to the state was a sheer delight where he also expressed his views on the much debated Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Every 90's kid in India would have propably grown up musically and lyrically driven by Shantanu Mukherjee alias Shaan's songs and what can be more pleasing when the very Singer pays a visit to Assam. INSIDE NE had an exclusive interview with the star where he spoke his heart out in his association with the state.
Shaan spoke at length on his relationship with the people of Assam and also on the Assamese songs he sang. He stated his association with legendary Bhupen Hazarika, the musical maestro of Assam. He shared his acting experiences in the movie Daman which was directed by Kalpana Lazmi an had in it the music of Bhupen Hazarika.
The singer was seen candid in the conversation where he said that had he not been a singer, he would definitely have been a Journalist as detectivism always fascinated him. He also spoke on his early life and about his struggles in the early years. The singer asked the people to withhold every struggle as something fun which would ultimately help in releasing the dreams.
When asked about the citizenship Amendment bill 2016 he said, " Constitutional safeguard is a must and parity forms a vital and integral part of any governance". The conversation ended with his evergreen, heart captivating tunes of " Musu Musu Hasi Deo Malai lai".
The entire conversation created a jovial mood spreading love across.
