Show cause notice against 71 officers enrolled in Lok Sabha election duties

Guwahati, April 4, 2019:

The District Election Officer (DEO) Kamrup Metropolitan district, Biswajit Pegu has issued show cause notices to 71 officers of various departments on Thursday for failing to attend their urgent election-related training programme.

In the official release, it was stated “The District Election Officer (DEO) Kamrup Metropolitan district, Biswajit Pegu as promulgated under the representatives of People’s Act 1951 has issued show cause notices 71 officers of various departments today. These officers were allotted duties in the ensuing parliamentary election 2019 and have failed to attend their urgent election-related training programme without providing any justifications or reasons of their absence in this matter.”

The DEO sought their replies to the show cause notices in writing within the next two days. “Failing which disciplinary actions will be initiated under provisions of the Affirmation Act,” said the DEO.
