GUWAHATI: Two-time Olympian and former national champion shuttler Dipankar Bhattacharjee of Assam has been diagnosed with brain tumour (pituitary gland tumour) which has been affecting his optic chiasm and vision.
Confirming its, his family sources said he will undergo an urgent surgery on February 4. The surgery will be done by noted neuro surgeon Dr BK Misra.
The Mumbai-based Altanta and Barcelona Olympian from Guwahati has been admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.

The sports fraternity here has been apalled by the news amd has been praying for his speedy recovery.
