Kokrajhar MP Naba Sarania on Monday slammed the Government for not consulting the non-Bodo organizations in the State before signing the peace pact with the Bodo stakeholders and alleged that it is part of a greater "political conspiracy" by the BJP and its allied parties.
"There is a possibility that there is a political conspiracy... At a time when the pact has been signed, within 2 months the Council elections would have been held. In the election, the Hagrama party or the BJP party was expected to lose. This seems like a move to swing the election..", Sarania said.

Sarania also lashed out at the Government's intention to formulate a new voter-list. "There is no need for that since only recently, an election was held...", Sarania contended.
"The Bidai or Saoraigwra that came here today, had come here two years earlier, but they were sent back for their crimes. Even Ranjan Daimary was given bail...let me tell you that October 30 was a most dreaded and heinous crime..", Sarania said, and stated that the Bodo community is marching towards forming a separate state Bodoland-type entity in the region.

Sarania has also said that instead of negating the BTC Accord, that was decried by the non-tribals in the region, the Government has further strengthened it.

Sarania said that the signing of this new peace pact will enable him to fight towards a definite goal. "Although today is a sad day...today could also be a happy day for us. Let us wait and watch how many rights are curtailed by the administration..", the MP further added, and assured that he would stand alongside the people in the coming times.
