Silchar MP declares support for those left out of NRC

Guwahati, Assam, 31 July 2018:

With eyes on their respective vote banks, no political leader seems to be losing an opportunity to grab attention post publication of the complete draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam. And even Congress MP from Silchar Lok Sabha constituency Sushmita Dev isn’t lagging behind in this regard.

The fiery leader has now asserted that she would stand by everyone left out from the NRC draft.

Dev tweeted on Tuesday: “I & my supporters will stand by everyone left out of the NRC even the potential the potential stateless who are human.”

She stated on her Twitter account that the streets of Silchar were deserted yesterday and a curfew-like situation prevailed in the town.

“The silence speaks volumes, it’s deafening to me,” she tweeted.
