The Silchar sex scam that rocked the southern Assam town last week and in which names of three MLAs from Barak Valley emerged has taken a new turn after two women, who filed the FIR, reportedly told the police that they did now the legislators and that someone else had included their names in the FIR.
According to the police, the women had stated a person named Manna Bhattacharya had inserted names of the MLAs in the FIR, but they said they had never met them or even knew them.
Following this, the police summoned Manna and questioned him, and might be arrested, if his involvement is found.
Manna is a local BJP leader and said to be a close aide of former Assam Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Dilip Kumar Paul.
