SIX YEAR OLD GIRL ALLEGEDLY RAPED IN ASSAM

A six year old girl was allegedly raped in Kamrup (Metro) district when she was alone at home. The incident came days after the Batadraba gangrape and murder case of a minor girl in Nagaon district. The girl was alone at home as her parents went to a nearby hospital for treatment. The girl narrated the incident to her mother and an FIR was lodged with Khetri Polce station.

After a vigorous search operation, a man, suspected to have committed the crime and was absconding, was arrested from a nearby village.

On March 23, a class 5 girl was gangraped and burnt to death at Dhaniabheti Lalung Gaon in Nagaon district when she was alone at home.
