Sonitpur district wins SSPF under-16 inter-district match

Guwahati, January 5, 2019:

The first match of School sports promotion foundation (SSPF) under-16 inter district competition began on Saturday.

The competition was inaugurated by district coordinator Bhaben Talukdar in presence of Bhupen Bora, Kabul Sarma, and Ritubaran Sarma.

The match was played between Sonitpur district and Golaghat District. After winning the toss, Sonitpur chose to bat first and scored 186 runs in 30 overs with a loss of seven wickets. Golaghat scored a total of 77 runs in 25 overs.

Prasurjya Kataki was pick of the bowlers as he took four wickets in 15 runs.

Sonitpur district won the match by 109 runs and Akash Sarmah who scored 68 runs in 81 balls was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.
