Spectacle of 'Ambubachi' Finally Comes to an Endend

Guwahati, June 26, 2019:

The much celebrated Ambubachi Mela has come to an end today as the main door of the Kamakhya temple was opened at 6 am in the morning today after the ritualistic bathing of the Goddess Kamakhya.

Devotees have already started gathering at the gates of the temple to seek blessings of Goddess Kamakhya. It is believed that during this period, Goddess Kamakhya is in her annual menstruation course for these four days which is celebrated as Ambubachi Mela.

Apart from the devotees, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Governor Jagadish Mukhi, Asom Gana Parishad president Atul Bora, and others visited the temple to offer their prayers.

Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma addressing the media at the temple said that the government is trying to formulate all the possible plans for the development of the temple. The Minister also announced to provide a roofing system in the entire path to safeguard the visitors from heat and rain.
