Chirang, October 25, 2019:

The search operation led by SSB Commander-in-chief, Durga Bahadur Sonar, was carried out in suspicion of looming security threat ahead of Diwali celebrations in the region.

Durga Bahadur Sonar said, “We have been searching the entire area under the Manas National Park. We have deployed the commanders to ensure safe Diwali celebrations. Since this area holds a record of the presence of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants in the past, the SSB has been keeping an eye to do away with threats.”
