SSB personnel recover country made gun in Assam's Baksa

BAKSA:  The 24th SSB battalion stationed at Rangia in Assam has recovered a country made gun deserted by suspected poachers near the Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa district.

 

Following specific information received from a casual source that two suspected hunters were seen on Thursday loitering in the Barnadi wildlife sanctuary along the Indo-Bhutan Border in Baksa district carrying illegal arms between border pillars 247 and 248, an official said.

After receiving the information, an action team of the SSB Rangia led by Commandant Hrishikesh Sharma along with forest officials of Kumarikata Forest Range Office launched an operation along Indo-Bhutan border.

 

When the group of culprit seen SSB troops at No-1 Dangargaon along Khandajan river near BP No. 248 they throw the arms and escaped towards the Bhutan side.

 

The SSB troopers recovered a country-made gun and handed it over to the Forest Range Office (FRO) of Kumarikata for further course of action.
