Startup Assam has organised the Northeast business webinar as an initial event of the Northeast startup festival with participants from across the northeast and neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan and ASEAN countries. The webinar was conducted to build a Startup Ecosystem across the northeastern states together and form international business collaboration, Business summit, startup conclave, investor conclave and various competitions in the startup zone.

The basic idea is to work on a theme of a startup Festival to accelerate the trade and commerce of northeast India with South East Asian countries. The concept of Northeast Startup Festival is to aim at bringing about socio, cultural and economic exchanges across the south East Asian countries with India through the northeastern states. The concept of the webinar was to generate discussions among the local entrepreneurs of the region to create a bridge with the neighbouring countries and exchange trade and commerce, facilitate import export for the various products that are developed in Northeast India.

The key Speakers and their topics in the webinar were Mr. Sunil Seth, CEO, Adani Group, Myanmar (Opportunities in ASEAN) Habib Mohammad Choudhury (Opportunities in ASEAN ), Manoj Kumar Das, Managing Director, NERAMAC (Agri based opportunities in Northeast India ), Kaushik Barua, Director, IFAD, Vietnam (Agriculture based opportunities in ASEAN), Sriparna Baruah, Head, Indian Institute of Entreprenuership, Guwahati (Entreprenuership ecosystem in Northeast India), Ravi Mehrotra, founder, forsight group,  chairman  EICC European Indian Chamber of Commerce (Business potential in Northeast), Kevin Wu, Founder & CEO of ento FoodTech, Kualalumpur, Malaysia (Startup collaboration in similar markets), Pranjal Konwar, COO, Assam Startup Nest (Startup ecosystem in Northeast). The event was hosted and moderated by Arup Kumar Misra, Director, ASTEC and vote of thanks offered  by Amitabh Barooa, secretary, Startup Assam.

The event witnessed entrepreneurs of various sectors, trade organizations, startup companies of various fields, MSMEs, officials of government organizations, investors, entrepreneurial communities who also shared their expert views and business potentials of the region.
