State-wide Protest by TET teachers demanding regularization of Job

Guwahati, September 13, 2019:

Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) - qualified teachers on Friday staged a state-wide 2 hours sit-in protest demanding regularization of all contractual TET teachers along with pay protection.

The protest was carried out under the banner of All Assam Primary TET Qualified Teachers’ Association.

The protesting teachers said, “We are frustrated over the controversial statements made by education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya. He is not concerned about the problems being faced by the TET qualified teachers.”

The protests have been reported in different parts of the state like Margherita, Tinsukia, Moran, Barpeta, and others.

It is to be mentioned that the TET teachers issue is a long-standing problem in the state of Assam. Protests have been staged with time to time demanding regularization of their jobs and pay protection.
