Student bodies protest schoolboy’s death

Sonari (Assam), Aug 18, 2018:

Activists of several students’ organisations staged a protest here on Saturday against the death of a schoolboy recently due to the alleged negligence of school authority in ensuring safety in the school premise.

Demanding punishment to the guilty and a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to kin of the deceased, the protest was staged by activists of the All Assam Students Union, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad and All Tai Ahom Students’ Union.

Priyankshu Paul and Rangranjan Mohan of St Joseph School at Sonari in Charaideo district received serious injuries when a wall of the school’s toilet collapsed over them on 9^th August.

After being admitted to the Assam Medical College Hospital at Dibrugarh, Rangranjan Mohan died on 12^th August.
