Student organisations continue protest against ST-H status for Bodos

Guwahati, December 6, 2018:

Students’ organisations in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong including the Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), Hmar Students’ Association (HSA) and Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) have continued to oppose the government’s move of granting ST-Hills status for the Bodos.

The student organisations protesting against the move have warned the government the they will initiate a massive agitation in the near future if the Bodos are granted ST status.

The organisations stated that the NCHAC and KAAC should approach the government and urged no to grant the Bodos with a ST-Hills status.

One of the leaders said, "We are not against any tribe or community but if the Bodos are given ST-Hills status, the existing ST-Hills people will be effected to a great existing."
