To commemorate the victory of India Army over Pakistan during Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, Vijay Diwas was celebrated with solemnity and military fanfare at Trishakti Corps on Sunday.
The event commenced with Lt. Gen CP Mohanty, GOC, Trishakti Corps, laying the wreath at the War Memorial, to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice made by the valiant soldiers of the Trishakti Corps during the Warin presence of the Veterans of the 1971 War along with other ex-servicemen, their families and school children from various schools.
The Wreath Laying Ceremony was followed by a visit to the Trishakti Corps Museum which showcases the stories of heroism and sacrifices made by valiant soldiers of the Corps.
The museum displays the weapons used by Indian Soldiers and also those which were captured from the enemy during the War. The main attraction are captured flags, maps and the Instrument of Surrender of the 1971 War.
