Suspected drugs seized in BTR's Chirang; 1 nabbed

GUWAHATI: Assam Police officials today seize a large consignment of suspected drugs in Kawatika village in Chirang district in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

"In continuation of the drive against illegal drugs trafficking conducted by Chirang Police, a drug peddler namely Premanul Hussain (24), Nasir Uddin, of Kawatika under Bijni police station has been apprehended," officials said.

A soap case containing 12 grams of suspected psychotropic substances, 6 grams of plastic containers containing suspected psychotropic substances weighing approx 1 gram, a mobile handset, a Hero Honda Glamour motorcycle, and a black Scorpio vehicle have been seized by the officials.

Further follow-up legal action is being taken, said officials.
