Suspected HPC Militant Arrested in Cachar

Lakhipur, June 4, 2019:

One suspected HPC cadre has been arrested from Hmarkhowlin in Cachar district of Assam on Tuesday.

The SDPO of Lakhipur conducted an operation with 37 Assam Rifles and apprehended the HPC cadre from Hmarkhowlin.

The arrested HPC militants has been identified as Lalbia Kung of K-Bethel village in Manipur

Following his arrest, Lalbia Kung led the security personnel to a house at Gobindpur Diger village under Lakhipur PS in Cachar district that resulted in the recovery of arms and ammunition.

During the search operation one AK 56 rifle, one MK 33 rifle and several rounds of ammunition from the house.

Interrogation of the apprehended HPC cadre is on.
