Suspected KPLT apprehended in Hamren

Guwahati, December 1, 2018:

A suspected militant of the Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers (KPLT) was apprehended by the police and security forces from Hamren on Saturday.

The suspected militant identified as Robin Ronghang alias Dhanshing was arrested based on a specific input. Although there were inputs of a team of militants hiding in the area, the operation team only apprehended one while the others were suspected to escape from the spot.

The police and security personnel seized a 7.65 mm pistol, some live ammunition and two cell phones from his possession.

The police are currently interrogating the arrested person. He is suspected to be involved in several extortion demands in the region.
