Suspected ULFA-I linkmen along with new recruits arrested in Tinsukia

Tinsukia, November 17, 2018:

The Tinsukia Police have arrested a suspected linkman of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) and two alleged new recruits.

The arrested persons were identified as Palash Moran (linkman), Raju Moran (new recruit) and Nabajit Mahanta (new recruit).

They were arrested from the Assam-Arunachal Border based on specific inputs. The Police stated that they were heading towards Myanmar for training but were caught in between.

It may be mentioned that over the past few months there were multiple reports of youths joining the banned militant outfit as they were unhappy with the government's proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
