Symbolic strike in Karbi Anglong to demand CAB withdrawal

Guwahati, January 24, 2019:

The Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) of Diphu organized a 5-hours symbolic sit-in strike. The demand of the sit-in strike is the scrapping of the highly controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.

The sit-in strike was held in front of the District Commissioner’s office in Diphu.

Ex-Executive Member Ashok Teron, Bidyasing Rongpi, General Secretary of the KADCC and various Congress party members joined in on the strike.

“Modi used to chalk out his program on radio, so let me announce regarding BJP, BJP are the enemies of the country, this is my slogan that I launch today on this august occasion of 5-hours sit-in strike in protest against the CAB 2016 and for this, the KADCC would extend thanks to your organization”, said a demonstrator, while speaking to InsideNE.
