GUWAHATI: Former Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Wednesday visited Shrimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Assam’s capital city to pay his last tribute to the former CM of the state Tarun Gogoi who breathed last on Monday evening.

Talking to InsideNortheast, Mukul Sangma said, “Tarun Gogoi started his political innings way and he has been into public life way before I joined. Gogoi and I, both were from the same Congress party and that is why our relation has been very different. It was just not as mere politicians but in addition to having that association as being in public lives from neighbouring states.”

“We had to deal with issues collectively. We were somehow inseparable as states of Northeast. Both the states had common problems and Gogoi dealt with those problems with his indepth understanding on the complexities of those issues which helped me learn a lot from him,” said Sangma.
