Bharatiya Chah Mazdoor Sangha’s (BCMS) Assam Pradesh Committee has demanded daily wage of the tea industry daily workers to be fixed as Rs 350.
They organisation in a press statement also demanded 20 per cent bonus for the labourers so that the economic condition of the labourers improves. They also stated that the tea garden labourers were in a very bad condition due to their poor economic and heath conditions.
President of BCMS, Assam Pradesh Committee Rajib Borah challenged the objection ofConsultative Committee of Planters’ Association (CCPA in fixing the minimum wage for labourers of the tea industry at Rs 351.33 daily.
One member of the organisation said that the tea garden labourers are the architects behind the tea industry in Assam and they should get justice with a proper pay.
