A BJP MLA in Telangana has courted a controversy by saying that Rohingyas and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants should be shot dead if they do not leave India.
“If these Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants do not leave India respectfully, then they should be shot & eliminated. Then only our country will be safe,” Raja Singh, the MLA of Goshamahal Assembly segment in Hyderabad, tweeted.
He made the controversial remark hours after Assam had published the complete draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) on Monday that saw the omission of names of over 40 lakh people.
The opposition parties slammed Raja for the controversial tweet. They alleged he was trying to incite violence over NRC. The issue of NRC had triggered a bedlam in both Houses of Parliament on Tuesday.
