The Secondary Education Board of Assam on Thursday announced the revised date for conducting the High School Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examinations on January 19, 2020.

Earlier, the examination was scheduled to be held on December 22, 2019. However, it was postponed in view of the massive protests across the state against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
The TET examination also is known as Medium TET for the secondary level, will be held in five languages - Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, Manipuri, and Bodo.

Looking at the alarming situation that prevailed in Assam as the outcome of the law and order situation, and suspension of the internet services, all the examinations of the educational institutions that were scheduled to be held from the first- second week of December were postponed. All these examinations will be held from December 27 and have been extended till January 2020.
