TOKYO: After sealing her spot in the semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics, Pugilist from Assam Lovlina Borgohain on Friday said that there there is just one medal for her and that is gold.
Interacting with media via video conferencing, Lovlina said that she couldn't talk much with her parents after her victory as there was huge crowd in her home cheering for her victory and upcoming matches
"Before my match, I just told my father not to worry and have faith in me", said the boxer.

Talking about Olympics the 23 year old said Olympics has been her ultimate goal since the moment she plunged into the world of Olympics. She added that she has been doing away with many things just for the preparation of the grand event. "I have made up my mind that I will enjoy all those things after I win an Olympic medal".
She added that she was lacking the feel of the ring due to the pandemic. She regretted missing the the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) sanctioned 52-day Europe tour for 16 elite Indian boxers for contracting COVID-19.
She is the second women’s boxer from India and the first from the state from Assam to win an Olympics medal.
She will face the reigning world champion Busenaz Surmeneli of Turkey on August 4.
