Threat to Jaati, Maati and Bheti of Assam: Modi confirms amendment of Citizenship Bill

Guwahati, January 4, 2019:

When one of the two valleys of Assam, Brahmaputra Valley is outraged over the amendment of the proposed controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 at the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the other valley; i.e the Barak Valley congratulates the people out there for supporting the Bill. The PM also announced that the Bill will soon be amended.

Addressing the huge gathering at Ramnagar in Silchar, Modi quoted,

“हमारी सरकार, Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 उस पर भी आगे बढ़ रही है। यह Bill भावनाओ से जुड़ा हुआ है।  यह Bill लोगों जीन्दगीओ से जुड़ा हुआ है।..........

आप सभी से बात करते हुए में आप सभी को बधाई देना चाहता हूँ। आप सभी बधाई के पात्र है के आपने उन सभी शक्तिओ के साजिशों को असफल कर दिया जो समाज में दरार डालना चाहती थी।”

Alluring the very emotion of the people from both the valleys of the state, which in one part the Modi led-BJP government is making statements of supporting the Bill while on the other part the same government is making statement that it won’t hurt the Assamese people and under no circumstances the it would let Assam to hold the burden of illegal migrants, leaving the people in a dilemma whom to trust now.

The years long agitation and sacrifices of the 855 martyrs of the Assam agitation has all turned vain after the clear statement of the Prime Minister to amend the Bill.

Meanwhile, the controversy has grabbed the feet of the state’s “Biggest Reigional Party- Asom Gana Party” whether at this stage the party chief Atul Bora will still wait for the Bill to get amended in the Parliamentary session or he will break the alliance and clear his stand to stand for the people of Assam along with the organizations who have strongly opposed the Bill from the very beginning.
