Three college lecturers killed in horrific accident at Dergaon

Guwahati, 24 January 2019:

In a tragic incident, three lecturers of Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah (CKB) College from Teok were unfortunately killed in a horrific incident at Dergaon on Wednesday night.

According to eye witnesses, the deceased were travelling in their Scorpio vehicle when they crashed on to a tank truck head-on at Balijan near Dergaon.

The three lecturers have been identified as Dr Ranjit Ranjan Saikia, Keshab Hazarika and Jintu Phukan while one severely injured in the incident have been identified as Naren Saikia.

The horrific accident occurred when they were returning back to Teok after participating at the Dibrugarh University Inter-College Youth Festival from Sarupathar College.

Following the incident, the whole area and CKB College has gone into deep grief and sorrow. The College festival has also been temporarily cancelled as mark of tribute for the lecturers.
