Three-day I-Day celebration in Hailakandi

The official celebration of Independence Day in Hailakandi district will continue for three days from August 13 to 15 with varied programmes.

According to official sources, the Day will be celebrated on the themes of a green and clean environment and strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation.

“We want everyone to be aware of the prime need to protect our environment from global warming and degradation by taking part in the afforestation programmes. And what better it can be when the state and the nation as a whole will be celebrating Independence Day,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner, Amalendu Roy.

The administration has decided to award the three cleanest offices at a time when Swacch Survekshan 2018 is going on in the country.
