GUWAHATI: Three earthquakes hit the northeastern region of India including Assam, Manipur and Meghalaya on Friday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
The epicentre of the earthquake in Assam was located in the Sonitpur district. It occurred at 2:04 am at the depth of 22 km and measured 4.1 on the Richter scale.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.1, Occurred on 18-06-2021, 02:04:40 IST, Lat: 26.73 & Long: 92.44, Depth: 22 Km ,Location: 36km WNW of Tezpur, Assam,” the NCS tweeted.
As per NCS, an earthquake occurred at 1.06 am in Manipur's Moirang at a depth of 10 kilometres.
The epicentre of the quake was located 39 kilometres East-Southeast of Moirang.
Another low-intensity earthquake of 2.6 magnitude jolted West Khasi Hills in Meghalaya. As per NCS, the earthquake hit at 4:20 am at the depth of 10 km.
